Description
The herb contains saponins and is therefore used in Ayurveda against ulcers, tumours, ascites, splenomegaly, inflammation, leprosy, anaemia, gastritis and enteritis. Locally, it was used as a tonic to enhance memory development and improve learning and concentration.
The plant contains many active ingredients - these include primarily steroid saponins such as bacoside A or bacoside B, as well as flavonoids and triterpenoid glycosides. All of these substances are extremely effective in treating diseases that affect humans. In the classical approach to Indian medicine, bacopa monnieri is a herb that affects the brain and peripheral nerves - it is classified as a Brahmi herb, which helps increase the intellectual capabilities of the brain and its overall functioning. Thanks to this, it also significantly influences the human psyche, playing an important role in creative and life activities. The plant's action is multifaceted, which is why it can be used for various ailments and diseases.
First of all, bacopa monnieri has the following effects:
antispasmodic,
antiepileptic,
painkiller,
anti-stress (adaptogenic),
antidepressant.
In folk medicine, the plant is also considered a herb with a diuretic effect and strengthens the human immune system, thus reducing its susceptibility to disease.
Use: pour a glass of boiling water (250ml) over 1 teaspoon (approx. 1.5g), brew approx. 10 minutes covered. Strain and drink 2 times a day with meals. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose of 3g
Do not use in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Store in a dry and cool place out of reach of children.
